If anyone in their right mind thinks that posting the picture of the riot is condoning it then you have some serious, serious issues. Using us as one of the scapegoats is beyond me. Is the National Post to blame for running this photo all across Canada? You all seemed to know far more about it than us before this was posted.
Alex is a good person and an incredible rider who made a giant mistake. Calling him a “wildman” in the picture pretty much sums it up to me but in this case “wildman” isn’t a compliment. Just because we use “gnar” on a daily basis riding bicycles and “wildman” being Todd Lyons’ nickname, doesnt mean their meanings change to “bitchin” and “we really dig this shit!” Take the context as you will, but in no way does that condone anyones actions. THIS WAS GNARLY! Think of how many stand up citizens lost their minds, did things they were far from proud of and ended up hindering the rest of their lives. I guarantee you know a few of them. Keep hating and don’t read thesensus if you think “Stupid Americans” are ruining the world by posting real events that the world has already seen.
I stand by friends through thick and thin.

Alex Pro lied about not flipping the truck. Video and photos now show that he did actively participate in flipping the truck and smashing the truck. It was a guys work truck with all his tools. Both destroyed and he can’t work now.

It really came off like you were condoning his actions. Sorry if that wasn’t your intentions but that is how it came across.

IF you want to stand by Alex, tell him to turn himself into the police and confess and apologize to ALL his crimes that night. And pay restitution to the truck owners whose livelihood he destroyed.

I know alex did something wrong, but doesn’t everyone? although some of the things are bigger and some are smaller, it doesn’t matter. At least he made an apology rather than laughing at the photo. I’m with cam, alex is an amazing rider and he shouldn’t be knocked done due to this!!

Alex Pro is my friend and a great guy. I stand beside him in this, no matter what happens.

He made a big mistake, and he’s now paying for it, but no need to kick him while he’s down. Props to you guys at Sensus for seeing this more clearly than most.

I’ve known Alex and his family for over ten years. He is a good person who made a mistake.

    I’ve got your back Alex.

Yes confess, so far all is has done is lied about his involvement publicly. Taking responsibility for your actions means confessing, turning yourself into the police, paying for the truck and making things right. So far all he has done is lie and avoid taking responsibility. The only reason he has done anything is because he’s being publicly shamed into doing it.

IF you’ve really got his back, help him do the right thing. If he ever wants to salvage what reputation he has left, he needs to do these things.

People from both Canad and the US don’t turn this into a US vs. Canada thing. It has nothing to do with what country you are from. Cam, it did sound like you were glorifying Alex in your original article. I live in Canada and the riot was no laughing matter. I appreciate your follow up article. I have no problem with you supporting your friend and you should continue to do so because he’s going to need a lot of help. He did something very wrong and deserves the shellacking he’s received, but he also has the ability to turn this around. We all like to see the bad guy get his due, but we also like a comeback story.

I Will say this. Alex is a beast of a rider but he can’t flip that truck over all by himself! Shit happens and we learn. This is the REAL AP!!!!!!!!!

If you pose in front of such things, you take ownership of them, proud of what’s going on. Alex does not have enough character to simply own up to what he was photo’d being so proud of. He’s a pussy, and if you’re proud of his cowardly character, I’m glad to not know you.

Joe: should everyone walk who helped flip the truck? Anyway, arguing now is pointless. The VPD have his info and will do what the law and courts allow. See what the sponsors do after, but I expect him to be dropped by most if not all, and then Intense will pick him up, because they are “badass”.
Cam: agree with your post. Anyone who thinks you were condoning the riot is a moron who needs their head examined.

Shit man, I feel like I just read some kind of church preach with half of these comments. The guy isn’t Jesus. He’s just another dude living life. You get caught up in shit sometimes and follow the vibe.

He’s not your kid people, it’s not your responsibility to control him like forced religion.

Pete unfortunately you’re an idiot. “Getting caught up in shit” usually refers to more juvenile things. If in this day and age being “just another dude living life” is flipping cars, and claiming it in photos then you’re even more out to lunch than your High School’s lunch lady. In the unfortunate circumstance that you are in fact out of school and currently working a full time job. I would expect you to get off MTB’s nuts and think for a second. Lot’s of people just lost a source of income because a bunch of 20 somethings who live at there parents house threw a fit downtown. People with real jobs and who now have real problems. Alex Pro can go back to Mom and Pop and he’ll be right back to where he started.

Stick by your friend, but you have to call a spade a spade.

It’s funny how many people that go to a Mtb website care so much about hockey and riots. Go ride your bikes and pick up a shovel! And stop worrying so much about other peoples shit.
