Riding a mountain bike without brakes is bad enough…

but a trials bike? To take a specialized discipline like trials that is based on good brakes, balance and precision and remove the brakes to limit trials makes no sense to me. Someone tell me when it became a good idea to take the brakes off a mountain bike, just because BMX riders do? 1 brake on a mountain bike is pushing it, even though I ride 1 (but I’m a 210 lb hack who is not smooth).

I only cringe when i see 12 yr old kids riding brakeless cuz some BMX punk at school told them – “only people who suck need to ride with brakes” . Then i point out their riding the same HARO as Ryan Nyquist- who rides with TWO brakes. Of course there at a loss to explain things after that.
