Quick Rant

This video right here shows how detrimental to our sport Jim “guy who carcassed at bike battle” DeChamp’s disgusting display of world records on Nitro Circus really was to mountain biking as a sport, community, and all around group of dudes who would one day like to get laid for being “extreme”. This episode aired about a year ago and it has taken me this long to be able to express my upmost disgust for what I witnessed. If you didnt catch the episode, thank fuck. The fact that Jim “front flip to back flop” DeChamp straight claimed his world records, one of which was a 2 foot high wall ride, forced so many poor mountain bike kids to remain virgins it brakes my heart. How are kids supposed to get tail when when “professional” MTB’ers are being portrayed on MTV in a way that catapults our sport back to the days of lycra and switchblade helmets. I just wish I could do more. Gawd save the children.

The description on this video reads, “the world record was set by Jim De Champ on the tv show Nitro Circus. He set the record with 18 pogos, here i do 23.”
Im gonna start rollerblading cause at this point we have less street cred.

If I had to rely on my bike skills to get busy with a woman, I would still be a virgin. Professional MTB’s and professional FWB’s will sustain the sport after the movie Whip It gets all the groms on rollerblades

    HAHA!! Priceless.

Aliens will invade us at some point anyways, so we are screwed no matter what happens to mtb as a sport and community…

“catapults our sport back to the days of lycra and switchblade helmets”

Hahaha – I was thinking John Tomac circa 1990 when you said this.

    I share your righteous indignation.
